Thermosets

KAOPRIMETM 27
KAOPRIMETM 27 is a coarse clay with a high aspect ratio designed for use in glass reinforced thermosets such as pultrusion profiles, sheet molding compound, and bulk molding compound. Its larger particle size and purity ensure low resin demand and the ability to aid in glass and fiver carrying and mold flow. In the curing and end use, KAOPRIMETM 27 will help reducing crazing and shrinkage and assists in moderating the exotherm.

 

f-PVC

OPAMAXTM 16
OPAMAXTM 16 is the ideal choice for use in f-PVC applications as a TiO2 extender. OPAMAXTM 16 has demonstrated its effectiveness as a functional filler and TiO2 extender in laminated and coated fabrics. Its whiteness, brightness, and tint strength can reduce TiO2 usage by up to 25%. It is effective as a white, high opacity pigment and UV screener.

KAOPLATETM 13
This high aspect ratio, high surface area product is ideal for plasticized PVC. KAOPLATETM 13 provides good rheology control without negatively affect processing stability, reduces plasticizer migration in the final article, and is an effective white pigment. The platy nature of the kaolin clay is ideal for offering improved mechanical properties compared to other inorganic fillers. KAOPLATETM 13 can be used alone or in conjunction with OPAMAXTM 16 as a means to reduce the TiO2 loading.
 

KAOPRIMETM 15
This very fine particle, high brightness product is used in f-PVC and plastisol formulations as a white pigment, TiO2 extender, and a means to improve mechanical properties. KAOPRIMETM 15 typically allows for a reduction in formulations cost compared to precipitated calcium carbonate and TiO2.
 

 

r-PVC

OPAMAXTM 16
OPAMAXTM 16 is the workhorse of the r-PVC industry as a functional filler and TiO2 extender. Its high brightness and particle size allow for up to 25% replacement of the TiO2 in r-PVC formulations.

KAOPRIMETM 27
KAOPRIMETM 27 has a good aspect ratio and platy structure, allowing for an improvement in the physical properties of r-PVC applications. It is designed to replace a portion of GCC (ground calcium carbonate) or PCC (precipitated calcium carbonate). KAOPRIMETM 27’s platy structure provides improvements in HDT, tensile strength, and CLTE.
